Did I write anything about my weekend yet? Guess not – we happened to be rather busy, so hence the delay.
On Friday we went to a colleagues’ housewarming in downtown Toronto – what a nice place. I finally meet her husband and her cat, as well as some of her friends and also two ex-colleagues who I hadn’t seen in a while. We did not stay for too long, but it was nice.
Saturday morning our builder, Mattamy, held their flower fest on the parking lot of the Catholic Church nearby. The mixing and mingling with the neighbours didn’t really happen, but we got a bunch of nice flowers for free. Let’s hope they survive, since it’s not really the best time for planting flowers. Since not that many people showed up, we got a few extra flowers. We did the planting on Sunday and we still have some flowers left, which we are going to give to our neighbours.
It was a nice gesture from the builder, but it does not compensate us for the countless problems we have been having with them. There also were some drinks, muffins and balloons for the kids.
On Sunday morning one of our friends flew in from Montreal, I picked him up at the airport. After giving him the tour of our house, we went to the British Car Show in Bronte provincial park. Despite our brief visit it was really nice.
Take note, if they tell you to go to the far parking lot, because there would be nothing available close by, alsways try first. We had quite a walk to the car, which would not have been necessary at all. Not that we minded, but our friend had been walking quite a bit the day before at another car show in the US, so he was kinda tired.
Then we went back home, grabbed some food and did most of the planting. After a quick cleanup we were on our way to the Summit Garden Restaurant in Mississauga, for a surprise birthday party for another friend. It was fun getting to know her parent’s in-law and some other friends and family. The food was great, too and we didn’t have to pay a cent.
