Final Occupancy Inspection?
Yesterday Kim found a note from the builder on the door. I don’t have it here to put down the actual wording, but basically it was rather cryptic. It was saying that it’s really important that we contact on-site customer service so the Town of Oakville can do the “final occupancy” inspection.
Hmm… Wait a sec. “Final Occupancy”? We’ve been living in the house for over six months now and they want to do a final occupancy inspection? They also make it sound (“It is important that…”) like we actually missed a date.
In any case, the inspection is now scheduled for Friday and I will update the blog then.

Dear Nadine:
Thanks for your comment. I am going to answer this here publicly as well, since you did not leave your email address – while mine is mentioned on this site (i@m.fm). I will make this more obvious in the future as I realize that not everyone will recognize this as a valid email address.
In any case, I will glady move the camera if this is of concern to you. I actually think the privacy part is a very interesting aspect of Webcams and CCTV, so I am planning to post something about this in the blog itself as well.
The main reason for the webcam was actually to show friends and family overseas what the weather is like here. The fairest solution would probably be to point the cam at my own house, which is however not that easy to archieve, unless I place the camera in someone else’s home ![]()
Actually I have to say that I really appreciate that you mentioned your concerns directly to me, I much prefer an open diaglogue to any ‘behind the back comments’.
Thanks for pointing your concerns out to me,
/Frank

Good morning Frank,
I realize this isn’t the right place for this comment but unfortunately, I have no other method of contacting you at this time. Its Nadine, your neighbour.
It has come to several of the neighbour’s attention that there is a webcam taking pictures of our street. Specifically pointing in the direction of my house. While I realize you mean no harm in this, a privacy law is being broken here. I, or anyone on our street, has not consented to having our homes posted internationally online. I kindly, ask you to remove this webcam from its current location. I would be more than happy to take a picture of your home showing the weather if you would like but for safety issues I ask you to remove this. Again, I know you mean no ill harm in this but many of us our not comfortable with this.
Thank you very much.
